Quality and service are still what we believe counts in this business and we strive for this in each step of the process in making and fitting your dentures for you.

Care and attention to detail must be taken, Why settle for a picket fence look ?

therefore looking for these things listed here below is a good starting point.

Denture Materials

There are Many brands of artificial teeth available in a wide range of quality and price.

Higher quality teeth are characterised with natural looking flecks of colour and are very hard and durable. They are stain and fade resistant even after years of wear. Low quality teeth are softer, less stain resistant and wear faster. They are plain in appearance and can fade over time. Denture base materials also vary in quality and price with the better ones being capable of holding a higher shine.Tartar and food debris which can be a problem are less likely to cling to higher quality denture bases.

Advanced Techniques

Construction techniques vary considerably and the quality of the materials used in the laboratory also varies and affect the final result. It is therefore understandable that for these reasons some people are a lot happier with their dentures than others. You may know of people yourself who are pleased with theirs while others are disappointed. In most cases a Technician who is interested in using the most advanced equipment and modern techniques together with the highest quality materials will produce the best result for his client. At Wanganui Denture Design this is exactly what we do.We have combined state of the art equipment and technology together with newly released laboratory materials to be able to bring you the best quality and care with improved results.

Generally the best techniques require more investment in equipment, time and skill by the technician than simpler methods and this will obviously will affect the price of the completed product.Prices vary considerably but after a formal consultation with a clinician you should be able to determine whether paying a little more is in fact , in the longrun, going to bring you the best value for money, after all, it is one of the few things in life you will use 24 hours a day forever.

Specific Examples
Procedures and materials used at Wanganui Denture Design

Light Cure Record Base Plates

This is the most up to date method of constucting extremely accurate centric occusion jaw recordings, used to obtain reliable in mouth references from which accurate dentures will be constucted.Specialised equipment is required for this.

High Quality Teeth

As illustrated earlier teeth used on your dentures are selected for there natural appearance, excellence in design for mastication purposes and extremely good wear resistance.

Low quality teeth generally wear out early, while otherwise your dentures are fitting perfectly well, instigating a necessity to get a new set prematurely.

Putting low grade teeth on new dentures is an expensive way to save money.

All this comes as standard in our edentulous denture construction.

We are also able to offer additional optional technology although these procedures are extra fees above our base price.

Balanced Freeplane Teeth Arrangement

Basically this is a more sophisticated way of arranging the teeth to move more freely over one another and without undesirable tilting of the denture when eating.

Please ask to have this explained to you during your consultation if you would like to know more about this.

High Impact Acrylic

We can offer you the toughest denture material available providing superior impact and flexure strength. This remarkable achievement is the result of incorporating molecules of rubber like material into the acrylic infrastructure. This gives the denture an internal shock-absorber rendering the dentures virtually unbreakable. The extra cost for this is approximately the same as the cost of one repair to each broken denture and is highly recommended.

Soft Linings

Resilient linings can be adapted to your denture (usually lower) to increase comfort for clients who suffer from hyperalgesic (hypersensitive) gums.

Useful Tip.

Recommended Cleaning Procedure for Soft Linings on dentures.

Place one level teaspoon of baking soda into a denture bath.Add lukewarm water.Allow denture to soak in solution for 15 minutes.
